President Roza Otunbayeva: Members of my family do not run for public posts

“Members of my family do not run for public posts” said president of Kyrgyzstan Roza Otunbayeva in interview of RIA Novosti.

R.Otunbayeva has been elected as the president of Kyrgyzstan for transitional period till December 31, 2011, at the results of referendum, held in June 27, 2010.

According to the experts, the main reasons of the overthrows from the posts of president of previous presidents – A.Akayev and K.Bakiyev - were the presence of the clan system and corruption.

Otunbayeva has told that she has 2 children –  son and  daughter. “My daughter works and lives in London, my son is doing his touristic business. My family members do not pretend for the public posts. I live so as I have been living before, one and half year left for the ending of the presidency, and I withstand it” said Otunbayeva.

 

Russia and Kazakhstan to develop Kyrgyzstan’s economy

Russia intends to actively assist Kyrgyzstan to develop its economy, it became known at the meeting of the vice PM of Kyrgyzstan Amangeldi Muraliyev and deputy ministries of foreign affairs of Russia and Kazakhstan, Gregory Karasin and Nurtai Abykaev.

Amangedli Muraliev has noted the importance of cooperation with such countries as Russia and Kazakhstan, and thanked the representatives of these countries for their assistance in such hard and crisis times of Kyrgyzstan. The main aim of Kyrgyzstan is to preparation for the donor conference titled “Emergency situation to Kyrgyzstan”, scheduled for July 27, 2010 and improvement of new budget.

Kazakhstan is developing anti - crisis plan for Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyz delegation, representatives of the Eurasian Foundation and World Bank met yesterday in Almaty in the Government House of Kazakhstan to discuss the creation of anti-crisis plan for Kyrgyzstan.

Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Umirzak Shukeyev has said that anti-crisis plan is developed jointly with the World Bank. The document should be ready by August 15 to be approved by the Government of Kyrgyzstan.
According to him, on 17 August, in Moscow, EurAsEC presents this anti-crisis plan at the board of the Eurasian Foundation, after that "under this anti-crisis plan preferential loans will be allocated to Kyrgyzstan.

 

 

Relatives of missing people during mass disorders have undergone test for DNA analysis

Tests have been undergone from the relatives of missed people during last tragic events in June will be sent to Moscow for DNA analysis.

According to the official of the health ministry Dinara Sagynbayeva, 173-175 tests for DNA analysis will be delivered to Bishkek. These tests will be resend to the center of legal medicine of Russia, because Kyrgyzstan has not its own DNA laboratory.

 

 

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon congratulated Roza Otunbayeva

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon congratulated Roza Otunbayeva with her receiving the authorities of the President of Kyrgyzstan for the transitional period and successful holding of referendum on June 27, 2010.

In his letter to Roza Otunbayeva, Ban Ki-moon wished the friendly people of Kyrgyzstan peace, consent, stability and prosperity.

 

 

Defense minister resigned to participate in the parliamentarian elections

Acting defense minister Ismail Isakov has resigned from his post to participate in the upcoming parliamentarian elections scheduled for October in 2010, he informed at the press conference.

According to him, the resignation letter already has been sent to the president Roza Otunbayeva.

Ismail Isakov has offered the candidacy of his assistant to the post of minister - Kubanychbek Oruzbayev.

 

 

USA plans to allocate additional 4.3 mln US dollars to Kyrgyzstan

USA plans to allocate additional 4.3 mln US dollars to Kyrgyzstan.

According to the US Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, 1.5 mln US dollars will be allocated to the realization of projects which supports democratic processes and institutes, protection of human rights and civil society. Also 1 mln US dollars will be allocated to the delivery of oil, fertilizer materials.

 

 

U.S. Government provided $200,000 for the National Immunization Campaign against Poliomyelitis in Kyrgyzstan

Ambassador Gfoeller announced the launch of the campaign at a press conference on July 16, 2010.  Vaccinations will be held in July and August free of charge and available for every child under the age of five.

“We hope that $200,000 from American people to Kyrgyzstan will help in the prevention of a polio attack in the country and the region”, Ambassador Tatiana Gfoeller noted at the press-conference.  She also appealed to the Kyrgyz media: “We need your help to make this Campaign a national success...Parents must know the importance of getting their children fully vaccinated and they must know where they can go to receive the vaccinations.”

 

 

Kazakhstan to render $10 million assistance to Kyrgyzstan

The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, at the informal meeting of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the OSCE countries on Saturday said that Kazakhstan will render urgent $10 million help to Kyrgyzstan.

The President of Kazakhstan said that Kazakhstan will help Kyrgyzstan with construction materials and fuel for the energy stations.

N. Nazarbayev also said that Russia and Uzbekistan as Kyrgyzstan's neighbours are already assisting Kyrgyzstan. "But this is not enough. Two international conferences - in July in Bishkek and in August in Almaty are planned to be held to render the necessary financial and donor help," the head of state said.

 

 

Austria will provide Kyrgyzstan 250 thousand Euros for the holding of presidential elections

The foreign ministers of OSCE member states have expressed support for the decision of the Kyrgyz side to hold parliamentary elections in October 2010.


In particular, the Austrian Foreign Minister M. Shpindelegger announced about allocation of 250 thousand Euros for holding of elections in Kyrgyzstan.

 

 

50 OSCE police officers to train officers in Kyrgyzstan

50 police officers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) will arrive in Kyrgyzstan. The President of Kyrgyzstan, Roza Otunbaeva, informed at the press conference.

Police officers from the international organization will carry out trainings of local national security officers and to advise on security issues.
