Bishkek, Zpresskg.com - A Kyrgyz official says police killed a suspected religious radical who hijacked a minibus in the south of Kyrgyzstan, RFE-RL reports.
Reuters quoted Deputy Interior Minister Kursan Asanov as saying none of the 15 passengers were harmed when police shot dead the armed hijacker at a roadblock on the outskirts of Osh.
Local officials said the hijacker was suspected of belonging to an extremist group and that he may have seized the vehicle in an attempt to evade imminent arrest.
